About CoArt – Art School & Creative Studio in Munich

Experience art – open, modern and unifying

The beginnings:
Schwanthaler Art School

CoArt was founded in 1983 by the artist Willi Bunkowski as a classic studio – a place for artistic work, painting and creative expression.

What began as a traditional art studio has evolved over the years into a vibrant platform for contemporary art formats.

The change:

Second Generation CoArt

With the generational change, a conscious rethinking of the studio began.

Today, CoArt is run by Laura Müller, the second generation of the family to lead the company. With a keen sense for people, brands, and special moments, she combines CoArt's established identity with modern ideas, new formats, and a clear vision for the future. Tradition and contemporary spirit go hand in hand.

Die Anfänge:
Schwanthaler Kunstschule

Zweite Generation CoArt

Today, the studio has been run by the second generation, Laura Müller, Willi Bunkowski's daughter, since 2020. With great respect for the building's history and a clear vision for the future, the studio was consciously developed from the Schwanthaler Art School into CoArt – as a symbol of openness, change, and new creative formats.

Shaped by her training in luxury hotels and her experience in controlling and project management at a start-up, Laura Müller combines structured professionalism with a keen sense for service, atmosphere, and brand worlds. Under her leadership, CoArt has evolved into a contemporary creative studio that today not only offers painting courses but also designs and implements high-quality events for large corporations, international teams, and select partners.
